Selected Projects - details Citizenship and Immigration Canada Public Works & Government Services Canada Ottawa, Ontario 1997 Carlyle Design Associates provided planning and design services for the renovation and fit-up of 1,770 square metres of leased space on three floors.  The design program was challenged with constraints imposed by Public Works standards and budgets, as well as  contractual arrangements with the landlord; and was further challenged by the limitations of a Class "C"  office building and the needs to deliver a code compliant, barrier free and upgraded environment suitable for Citizenship ceremonies.   Scope of Work and Key Responsibilities : Design services included development of Cost Estimates, Coordination with client representative,     Public Works, and the landlord Preparation of Fit-up Design, including Lighting Design, Furnishings drawings Documentation and Specifications for tender and construction Construction review and interior fit-up coordination The Donald Gordon Centre Queen's University Kingston, Ontario 1995 - 1996 Carlyle Design Associates worked with the design/build team of Griffiths Rankin Cook Architects and Tristan Construction to design interior environments supportive of executive conference activities, incorporating state of the art communications technology.  The total project was completed on budget at $10,100,000; and on time for scheduled conferences in September, 1996. Scope of Work and Key Responsibilities : Concept design & development for interior environments and interior detailing Inventory & Evaluation of existing furnishings for re-use, and established new furnishings requirements. Interior space planning and furnishings layouts Research, Selection & Specification of furnishings & products, including specifications for refurbishment               of existing furnishings Managed budgets for interior fit-up and for furnishings Assistance through implementation, and Site Supervision for the fit-up of interior environments Construction Inspections, and Deficiency Reports Carlington Community Health Centre Ottawa, Ontario 1992 - 1994 Awards received : 1996 ARIDO Bronze Award for Adaptive Re-use 1994 Architectural Conservation Awards City of Ottawa, Certificate of Merit for Adaptive Re-use Category The Carlington Community Health Centre, an adaptive re-use project, converted a 20,000 square foot 1922/1959 elementary school into a facility to house a broad range of holistic health care programs and social services.  Extensive renovations at a cost of $1,600,000 were required in order to develop interior environments supportive of the centre’s programs and activities. Carlyle Design Associates worked in close collaboration with Edwards-Fentiman Architects, the centre’s development consultant, and the client's Design Committee to provide space planning, schematic design, interior design, and furnishings selection, design and specifications.    Coordination with multi-disciplinary team & user groups from onset of project through to completion.
